If we are to emulate and imitate the image of Jesus in our everyday
lives, we must understand the personality and character of Jesus
Christ as all man and all God. Jesus Christ is more than an abstract
biblical personality. He was, and is, a real man who lived an extraordinary
real life with a real culture and a real history.
Jesus was a man of extraordinary charisma, extraordinary compassion
and extraordinary commitment. Our Pastor, Luke Mitchell, Jr., seeks
consistently to be made in the image of Christ through understanding
the life and the ministry of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Most recently, one of our members described Reverend Mitchell as
a man with charisma. "As a loyal and supportive member of The
New Mount Olive Church Family, I have studied the man, the message
and the ministry of Rev. Luke Mitchell, Jr." I agree with Rev.
Darden as he described our Preacher of Passion and Power. He does
have charisma and he uses it with class.
Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary defines Charisma as: 1) an
extraordinary power given a Christian by the Holy Spirit for the
good of the church; 2) a personal gift of leadership arousing special
popular loyalty or enthusiasm for a leader.
Charisma, either you have it or you don't.
Speaking of the life of Jesus Christ, The Bible says
in Saint Luke Chapter Two, verse 52, "And Jesus increased in
wisdom and statue, and in favor with God and man." The favor
of God is evident in the life of our Pastor through his explosive
preaching and teaching.
As Nicodemus said to Jesus on one occasion, "But
no man can do these things except God be with him." John 3:2
Through his gifts lives have changed.
Those that said they can't, now can;
Those that would sit down, now get up;
Those that were lost, are now found;
Those that were weak, are now strong;
Those that were sad, are made glad;
Those that were trembling, are now triumphant;
Through the preaching and teaching ministry of Pastor Luke Mitchell,
Jr.
His favor with man is evident through our many fellowships, both
locally and nationally. His "Good News" Radio Broadcast
and "Family Bible Time" Broadcast, have literally inspired
thousand for over a decade. Now, with the Internet, he has become
one of the pioneers of moving the gospel message to the digital
community.
He is committed to the "Cause of Christ." There may be
those that may not share this personal observation of the life,
message and ministry of this passionate powerful preacher by the
name of Luke Mitchell, Jr. One thing is for sure, he is not swayed
by anyone's personal opinions and seeks no validation from man in
fulfilling the purpose that God has for his life. |
